My son giving a thumbs up in front of an old VW bus covered roof to wheels in hundreds of stickers.

My clarity consultant out at the Pink Elephant Antique Mall, in front of a van that was saying everything and nothing all at once.

I'm not even sure where it came from, but my 13-year-old son dropped a bit of wisdom while we were talking about my website. "It has to tell people exactly what you do," he said firmly.

That's the thing, isn't it? It's always the end goal, but when you're starting a company from the ground up, at some point you just have to ship something (I'm looking at you, Steve Jobs). Version 1 isn't always the masterpiece it could be, but it's a start.

And his timing was perfect. I'd just admitted to someone that my own site could be better, that I'd been too busy building for everyone else. So his comment was exactly the push I needed to dig in and refresh the consulting site.
